Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Associate to join our team at Michael's Inc. As a key member of our store environment team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with company procedures.
  • Dust and damp mop floors to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Move equipment and products to facilitate cleaning and restock shelves as needed.
  • Clean assigned areas using assigned materials and equipment.
  • Mix cleaning solutions according to specifications and apply to surfaces as needed.
  • Deep clean high-traffic areas, including bathrooms, breakrooms, and entryways, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Keep cleaning equipment organized and notify supervisors of supply needs in advance.
  • Seek out areas requiring cleaning and take initiative to complete tasks.
  • Complete all tasks assigned by supervisors in accordance with company procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain positive and respectful interactions with team members and customers, even in difficult situations.
  • Project a positive image and serve as a role model for other team members.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience and execute cash handling to company standards.
  • Engage customers on the benefits of our rewards program and private label credit cards and complete enrollments.
  • Assist with omnichannel processes, including buy online pickup in store and ship from store.
  • Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram processes.
  • Support shrink and safety programs and adhere to standard operating procedures and company policies.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
