Position Summary:
As a Flight Instructor and Check Airman, you will be responsible for training new and recurrent pilots, ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR). Your expertise will be vital in conducting check rides and providing comprehensive instruction in all facets of aviation ground and flight training.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver flight training and assess pilot performance through various evaluation methods.
  • Coordinate and schedule ground school and flight training sessions.
  • Conduct thorough training on equipment usage, flight procedures, and operational techniques.
  • Instruct pilots on company policies and aircraft operations, focusing on both recurrent and new-hire training.
  • Ferry aircraft as needed and assist maintenance teams with pre-flight inspections.
  • Operate aircraft safely and efficiently, adhering to all regulatory guidelines and company protocols.
  • Monitor weather conditions and make informed decisions to ensure mission success.
  • Uphold all company policies and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Experience:
  • Preferred experience in Helicopter Air Ambulance (HAA) operations.
  • Prior experience with FAR 135 operations is advantageous.
  • Check Airman experience is preferred.

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Skills:
  • Commercial rotorcraft helicopter certificate.
  • Class I or II Medical Certificate.
  • Helicopter instrument rating.
  • Minimum of 2000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) in helicopters.
  • Preferred 100 hours in type and CFI Helicopter certification.

Working Conditions:

The role requires specific vision capabilities, including close, distance, and peripheral vision, along with depth perception. You will work in various weather conditions and may be exposed to blood-borne pathogens or airborne particles. Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and loud noise levels is expected.


Physical Requirements:
  • Must adhere to a 230-pound weight limit with flight suit and boots.
  • Able to sit for extended periods.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

This position reports directly to the Chief Flight Instructor and collaborates closely with fellow pilots and aviation personnel.
