POSITION SUMMARY

The role involves providing training for new and recurrent pilots, as well as conducting evaluation flights in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR). A thorough understanding of all facets of aviation ground and flight training is essential, including the operation of Flight Training Devices (FTD) when a Flight Simulator Trainer is unavailable.

Additional responsibilities may include participation in special projects within other aviation-related departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct flight training sessions.
  • Assist in organizing ground school and flight training schedules.
  • Evaluate pilot performance, knowledge, and skills through manuals, checklists, and proficiency assessments.
  • Deliver training and review courses on equipment usage, flight procedures, and techniques.
  • Instruct new pilots on company regulations, aircraft operation, and ground training for both recurrent and new-hire pilots.
  • Ferry aircraft as needed and requested from maintenance facilities.
  • Support maintenance by performing acceptance pre-flights and flights.
  • Operate aircraft safely and efficiently, adhering to the Aircraft Flight Manual, Federal Aviation Regulations, and the Air Evac Operations Manual.
  • Monitor weather conditions and forecast changes.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:
Preferred background in HAA and FAR 135 operations, along with prior experience as a Check Airman.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Skills:
Must possess a Commercial Rotorcraft Helicopter Certificate, Class I or II Medical Certificate, Helicopter Instrument Rating, and a minimum of 2000 hours as Pilot in Command of helicopters, with 100 hours in type preferred. CFI Helicopter certification is also preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The role requires working in various weather conditions and frequent exposure to blood-borne pathogens or airborne particles. Candidates must be able to work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to vibrations and loud noise levels during flights.

Physical demands include the ability to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds and the capacity to sit for extended periods. A weight limit of 230 pounds with flight suit and boots applies.
