Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Support Specialist to join our team at Community Health Centers of Greater Dayton. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting our technological business applications, ensuring the efficient and accurate use of applications by all business areas.

Key Responsibilities

Network Performance and Internal Controls

  • Develop and implement internal processes and procedures to safeguard and maintain the integrity of information technology systems.
  • Ensure adherence to data security and storage procedures, including verifying successful backup of network data.
  • Establish and maintain a process for tracking and resolving network and connectivity problems, and other IT-related issues.
  • Ensure company assets are maintained responsibly, and conduct a complete physical inventory of all computer equipment annually.
  • Perform routine maintenance and standard repairs to networking components or equipment, and arrange for the installation and configuration of wireless networking equipment.
  • Coordinate the implementation and testing of system installations and software upgrades.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the I.T. security program and conduct annual and ongoing risk assessments.

Purchasing / Vendor Relations

  • Build and maintain vendor relationships, and participate in analyzing and negotiating IT-related contracts.
  • Review and approve IT-related invoices.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual budget as it pertains to IT-related expenses.
  • Evaluate and arrange for the purchase of hardware, software, and other IT-related supplies.
  • Make recommendations to management concerning future HIT-related purchases.

Employee Access and Training

  • Create or revise instructions, procedures, and/or manuals governing employee use of the network and HIT system.
  • Organize and coordinate computer training for employees, and convey relevant IT information in a timely manner.
  • Ensure employees are aware of, and have access to, the necessary information systems through assignment of logins/passwords, education, etc.
  • Participate on various teams and task forces as appropriate, lending expertise to the development and implementation of various system features and enhancements.
  • Provide technical assistance and support, and establish and maintain relationships with team members throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in a related field or Certification in Health Information Technology, and a minimum of 1 year experience with HIT required.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite required.
  • NextGen Certification preferred.
