Job Responsibilities:

The Educational Support Specialist will play a crucial role in delivering targeted interventions to assist students in developing effective learning strategies. Reporting directly to the Campus Principal, the specialist will:

  • Serve as a positive role model for students;
  • Collaborate with teachers to assess students' academic and personal needs;
  • Establish meaningful relationships with students and their families;
  • Support student learning in Title I subject areas;
  • Implement DECA's mission through instructional practices;
  • Celebrate and acknowledge student achievements;
  • Hold students accountable for their academic progress;
  • Advocate for students and families in collaboration with teaching staff;
  • Assist in developing personalized instructional plans that cater to individual student needs;
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents;
  • Participate in faculty meetings and professional development sessions;
  • Employ diverse educational techniques to achieve academic goals;
  • Support school safety protocols during emergencies;
  • Facilitate supplemental educational activities to promote student growth;
  • Occasionally transport students in compliance with school policies;
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the principal.

Employment Terms:

This position is for 178 days with a salary commensurate with experience and educational qualifications. All staff members are contracted on an annual basis.

Work Environment:

The role involves working in various settings, including classrooms, activity centers, and outdoor environments. The position may require physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds and maintaining a range of motion necessary for effective student engagement.
