About the Job

Safety Professional


Safety Coordinator will provide interpretation, analysis, and support of programs related projects, and processes which support the health and safety management system for the Parts Division for our distribution and manufacturing operations in the USA. This role may spend 50% of their shift on the warehouse floor making safety observations, conducting incident investigations, interviewing employees, and training individuals on safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Improvement: Participate in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of processes to reduce workplace hazards.
  • Incident Investigation: Conduct incident investigations and ergonomic reviews and assist in determining effective corrective action.
  • Data Analysis: Compile and analyze necessary data, documentation, and correspondence to comply with safety regulations and health and safety management system requirements.
  • Health and Safety Standards: Develop recommendations for health and safety processes/programs to meet the John Deere health and safety standards and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Safety Recordkeeping: Manage and review safety recordkeeping per OSHA guidelines and internal processes and procedures.
  • Safety Audits: Coordinate safety audits and risk assessments to identify noncompliance with John Deere standards processes and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Corrective Action: Manage corrective action and preventative action processes.
  • Equipment Review: Review new processes, equipment and assets for potential hazards and compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. Make recommendations, if necessary, prior to introduction.
  • Safety Training: Develop, direct and may conduct safety presentations and training.
Requirements
  • Experience: Knowledge and experience in a warehousing or manufacturing environment with a strong safety background.
  • Safety Training: Knowledge and experience in developing and providing safety training.
  • Education: Safety Degree and/or very strong manufacturing safety experience.
  • Skills: Strong skills in MS Office suite.
  • Certification: CSP accreditation preferred.
  • Other: Metatarsals for first day not reimbursable.
