As a Vehicle Electrical Systems Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

This role entails diagnosing electrical circuit faults and executing repairs to meet Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards. You will be tasked with identifying issues within various vehicle electrical systems, repairing damaged components, and ensuring the maintenance of electrical repair tools for an automotive manufacturer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical problems, implementing effective solutions
  • Provide leadership on-site with accurate repair time estimates
  • Repair or replace defective wiring, connectors, or electrical systems
  • Install new wiring systems in vehicles according to OEM specifications
  • Service and repair immobilizer and alarm systems
  • Maintain and repair electrical components in new OEM vehicles
  • Ensure a tidy and organized workspace
  • Complete job documentation and necessary paperwork
  • Guide and mentor other technicians to enhance their understanding of vehicle electrical systems
  • Demonstrate effective methods for diagnosing and rectifying deficiencies in vehicle electrical systems
  • Conduct thorough root cause analyses to pinpoint the origins of vehicle issues
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert, interpreting vehicle electrical system architectures and schematics for fellow technicians
  • Share insights and lessons learned with site leadership and team members promptly
  • Occasional travel may be required to various work sites

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in electrical repair
  • In-depth knowledge of contemporary vehicular electrical systems
  • Ability to work in confined spaces within vehicles
  • Proven expertise in automotive systems from an advanced diagnostics perspective
  • Proficient in using digital multimeters, OEM diagnostic tools, and other automotive diagnostic equipment
  • Skilled in interpreting early engineering-level electrical schematic diagrams
