About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Vascular Sonographer to join our team in Midlothian, Illinois. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging Department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a comprehensive array of abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and small parts procedures, demonstrating technical expertise and attention to detail.
  • Accurately recognize and document critical findings, such as deep vein thrombosis, ectopic pregnancy, and aortic aneurysms or dissection.
  • Assist physicians during procedures, such as amniocentesis, thoracentesis, biopsies, and cath lab procedures.
  • Assess arterial circulation using pulse doppler, duplex imaging, and physiologic indirect testing, and analyze hemodynamics of the extracranial, carotid arteries.
  • Document patient history and images for analysis and interpretation, and communicate results to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates degree in Allied Health or Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health Science.
  • 1 year experience in Abdomen and OB/GYN, and 1 year experience in Vascular exams.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints.
  • Ability to communicate with patients and respond to patients in a timely manner.
  • Exposure to ill patients, and may be exposed to blood and urine samples.
