Job Summary:

The Arizona Supreme Court, Administrative Office of the Courts, is seeking a detail-oriented individual to perform high-level administrative duties for the Commissions on Appellate and Trial Court Appointments (JNC) and Judicial Performance Review (JPR). The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field, and four years of related experience in progressively responsible positions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of the process involved in nominating applicants for judicial office and the process of reviewing the performance of judges that are appointed under merit selection
  • Coordinating meetings, drafting minutes, and policies and procedures adopted by the Commissions
  • Assisting in coordinating the JPR Conference Team process, administering the annual process for the appointment of judges pro tempore, and preparing individual pro tempore administrative orders
  • Conducting background checks on JNC applicants
  • Recruiting, screening, and coordinating the appointment of volunteers to serve on Supreme Court committees and commissions
  • Program planning, project management, monitoring, and evaluation; data analysis, public information activities, including website design and maintenance; policy development and maintenance; and developing and conducting training of volunteers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field
  • Four years of related experience in progressively responsible positions
  • Highly effective communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of professional people associated with the legal system and government entities
  • Demonstrated judgment in disseminating information and handling personnel matters
  • Proficiency in detail orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
