Key Responsibilities:

  • Executing designated security and safety tasks to uphold order and discipline
  • Addressing resident requests and collaborating with supervisors for decision-making
  • Orienting residents and monitoring their behavior
  • Applying crisis intervention techniques and managing behavioral issues
  • Conducting inspections of resident accommodations for adherence to policies
  • Engaging in recreational activities and games with residents
  • Timely completion of program-related assignments
  • Interacting with residents in accordance with established guidelines
  • Documenting and compiling information in resident records
  • Preparing incident reports as necessary

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Understanding of communication methods, human behavior dynamics, crisis intervention strategies, security protocols, and program operations
  • Proficiency in maintaining resident records, interpersonal communication, crisis management, and documentation in a residential context
  • Capability to observe and interpret behaviors, provide necessary care, adhere to directives, ensure security, respond to emergencies, and promote diversity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in providing care for psychiatric patients, residents, or inmates in similar environments is highly desirable

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Must obtain a valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • CPR and NVCI certification is required and must be maintained
  • Driving for State Business is necessary
  • A valid state-issued driver's license is mandatory
