Role Summary

At CCS, we play a vital role in delivering crucial support to individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-Hearing, enabling them to access and thrive in the community independently. Our responsibilities include:

  • Conveying visual and environmental information to ensure equal access and opportunities.
  • Providing travel assistance, including human guide support, to facilitate independence.
  • Ensuring safe community access through transportation services.
  • Driving agency or personal vehicles for company-related purposes.
Key Responsibilities

As a Support Service Provider III, you will be responsible for:

  • Working with individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-Hearing, Blind, and/or Low Vision.
  • Providing services that promote independence, equal access, and opportunities.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements

To qualify for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Rehabilitation, Social Work, Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-Hearing, Blind, and/or Low Vision.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language, Manually Coded English, and/or other communication modes used by individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-Hearing.
  • Capability to lift up to 35 pounds 15% of the time.
  • Basic computer and typing skills.
Additional Requirements

Candidates must also meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and 39-month motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI National Criminal Records History Report (cost covered by employer).
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening (including marijuana, irrespective of recreational use laws) (cost covered by employer).
Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Prior experience in providing services to individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-Hearing.
  • Prior experience in supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology (AT) and technologies supporting individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, Hard-of-Hearing, Blind, or Low Vision.
  • Knowledge of Braille.
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Proficiency in communication systems preferred by individuals who are Deaf-Blind.
  • Ability to communicate using Signed English.
  • Proficiency in Tactile ASL.
