Senior Systems Analyst Job Description


The Senior Systems Analyst is a key member of the Prosum team, responsible for evaluating how well the organization's software, hardware, and broader IT systems meet both internal and client business needs. This role involves drafting detailed requirements for new systems, assisting in their implementation, and monitoring their ongoing effectiveness to ensure they align with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a subject matter expert in various business applications, systems, and processes.
  • Identifies opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, collaborating with stakeholders at all levels to support strategic goals.
  • Leads the full lifecycle of software development, from process modeling and requirements gathering to system design, testing, and deployment of software solutions.
  • Conducts comprehensive analysis and assessment of interdependent processes, ensuring the effective integration of enterprise-wide systems.
  • Addresses system requirements by diagnosing and resolving technical issues, designing appropriate solutions, and establishing testing standards to ensure system performance.
  • Engages with clients to understand business needs, defining system issues and evaluating current procedures to develop effective solutions.
  • Designs optimized workflow solutions by preparing and evaluating alternative methods, ensuring processes align with business goals.
  • Oversees the specification and coordination of solution development, collaborating with programming teams to meet system requirements.
  • Validates system functionality through thorough testing procedures, ensuring all solutions perform as expected.
  • Facilitates user training and provides ongoing support to ensure smooth operation of newly implemented systems.
  • Produces comprehensive documentation to serve as reference material for end-users and support teams.
  • Leads the adoption and application of Agile methodologies, ensuring that best practices are maintained and continuously improved across projects.
  • Manages risk across departments by spearheading risk mitigation planning and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) design initiatives.
  • Demonstrates project management capabilities, often leading small project teams to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of solutions.
  • Continuously seeks professional development opportunities to stay at the forefront of technological advancements.
  • Provides mentorship to junior analysts, guiding their professional development and onboarding into the team.
  • Reviews deliverables from team members to ensure quality control and adherence to standards.
  • Offers expert consultation on projects, drawing from deep technical and business process knowledge to inform decisions.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience, or 7+ years of equivalent experience in the field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in core technology stacks relevant to the role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and data analysis.
  • Solid knowledge of data modeling, data visualization techniques, and user interface design principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce clear, actionable reports and dashboards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset for troubleshooting complex systems.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and the ability to lead small to medium-sized projects.
  • Able to perform under pressure, managing multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring the precision and accuracy of all work outputs.
  • Willingness to accommodate flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on department needs.
