We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Tech to join our team at McLean Hospital. As a Mental Health Tech, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and participating in therapeutic milieu.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and participate in therapeutic milieu
- Assist Registered Nurses in providing direct patient care
- Accurately and timely document AFS, progress notes, and observation sheets
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and maintain professional boundaries
- Participate in patient rounds and teams
- Complete patient care assignments and identify patient behaviors that contribute to crisis situations
- Utilize non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate crisis situations
- Communicate changes in patient status to Registered Nurses
- Follow Standards of Care and protocols for assigned patients
- Remain awake and alert at all times while on the job
- Perform Point of Care testing (POC)
- High School diploma or GED required
- Prefer two years of college plus one year of clinical experience, preferably in a psychiatric setting
- Verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work in collaboration with others
- Previous experience in direct patient care preferred
