About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Operations Director to lead our culinary team in a retail environment, specializing in scratch cooking. Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Development: Curate and design diverse, innovative menus centered around scratch-cooked, high-quality ingredients, integrating nutritional elements and catering to diverse dietary preferences.
  • Culinary Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a culinary team to deliver excellence in food preparation, presentation, and taste, fostering a positive and collaborative kitchen culture.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and adherence to health and safety standards, streamlining processes to enhance overall operational performance.
  • Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure a consistent supply of fresh, sustainable, and locally sourced ingredients, negotiating favorable terms to optimize cost efficiency.
  • Customer Experience: Interact with customers to understand their preferences and feedback, implementing customer-centric strategies to enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the culinary team, staying informed about industry trends and sharing insights with the team.
  • Financial Management: Collaborate with financial teams to create and manage budgets for the culinary department, exercising strong financial stewardship in all culinary operations.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Culinary Operations Director or equivalent, preferably in a Healthcare setting, with a minimum of three to five years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
  • Culinary Degree: Culinary degree or equivalent certification.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Culinary Expertise: Strong commitment to scratch cooking and using fresh, quality ingredients, with a creative flair and a passion for culinary innovation.
