What You Will Contribute
The Assembly Technician - Level 2 is responsible for assembling parts according to specified Work Instructions and/or Drawings, demonstrating the ability to effectively complete critical component assemblies. This position may require rotation throughout the facility in a variety of assembly tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate and contribute to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost continuous improvement efforts.
- Use production systems to record day-to-day customer order activity, view work instructions, and report completed work.
- Utilize basic printing programs to complete customer orders when required for a specific job and make adjustments as needed.
- Take initiative to ensure priority items are completed and seek out additional information from lead or supervisor when necessary.
- May be responsible for basic training of others in the department.
- Operate basic hand, battery, electric, and pneumatic powered tools to complete assemblies.
- Safely use circular saws, deburring tools to complete modified assemblies.
- Accurately use laser etchers, dot peen etchers, and engravers to complete modified assemblies to customer specifications.
- Navigate through basic LX screens to identify inventory requirements and status as needed and utilize systems as required to make adjustments.
- Perform basic 5S and Lean concepts to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient workplace.
- Responsible for understanding a wider variety of soldering, gluing, and centering to specific tolerances, including multiple areas/products.
- Responsible for gas calibrations to test sensors.
- Able to use function generators and multimeter test equipment.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Associates Degree or vocational training desired.
- 3 plus years of assembly experience.
- Basic computer skills, including previous experience with an ERP system and Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Enthusiasm and ability to work well in a busy environment.
- Good attendance required.
Working Conditions
- Depending on the assigned department, must be able to demonstrate the ability to lift up to 60 pounds and complete an audiogram test.
- Those working in the Aerospace department must be able to pass a Vision, Color Vision, and Depth perception test.
