Are you a skilled diesel mechanic looking for a challenging and rewarding career? We have an exciting opportunity for a Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team at the Walbec Group in Racine, WI.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced diesel mechanic to work in our maintenance and repair facility. As a Diesel Mechanic Technician, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty trucks in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to determine machine or vehicle condition
  • Perform preventive maintenance schedules, install component and part upgrades, and control corrosion
  • Repair and replace major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems
  • Verify proper performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems
  • Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repair logs
Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record (CDL required or the ability to obtain)
  • Two to three years of prior work experience working on heavy-duty trucks and diesel engines
  • High School diploma and vocational training and certification from an accredited organization, or combination of schooling and relevant work experience
  • Strong technical understanding, good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and thoroughness
  • Ability to work varied hours, including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed
