Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Orthopaedic Oncology team at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care, collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of innovative treatment plans.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including history and physicals, to diagnose and manage patients with primary bone or soft tissue tumors or metastatic tumors.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including preoperative and postoperative care, in collaboration with surgeons and other healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Manage surgical schedules, coordinate with multiple surgical services, and facilitate complex cases.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary conferences to discuss patient cases and develop treatment plans.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in orthopaedic oncology to provide evidence-based care.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.
  • Written authorization from the Texas Board of Nursing or Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners to function as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Eligibility for limited prescriptive authority in the state of Texas (may be required).
Preferred Qualifications
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
