Job Title: Medical Assistant Supervisor

At Texas Oncology, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant Supervisor to join our team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the Medical Assistant department, ensuring smooth and efficient patient flow, and providing exceptional patient care services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Onboard and train new Medical Assistants
  • Direct daily workflows of MA Lead and MR Senior roles
  • Responsible for development of junior level MA staff
  • Serves as an escalation point for staff, patients, and Physicians
  • Assigns Medical Assistants to work with specific physicians
  • Creates and maintains the work schedule for medical assistants
  • Escorts patients from the lab to the exam room or treatment room
  • Records patient data prior to each physician visit
  • Obtains all necessary patient records
  • Verifies presence of consent prior to treatment or procedures
  • Collects data and obtains pertinent medical information for referral to the physician
  • Directs patients from the exam room or physician's office to the next appropriate station
  • Prepares and stocks exam rooms, orders supplies as needed
  • Delivers patient education

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants required
  • Minimum of seven years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting preferred
  • Two (2) years previous Lead or Supervisory experience preferred
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred
