Job Summary:

Texas Oncology is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our clinical team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic, providing exceptional patient care, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality cancer care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians and clinicians with patient care duties, promoting efficient patient flow and care.
  • Perform clinic support tasks, including clerical duties, answering phones, and maintaining physician schedules.
  • Support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
  • Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as needed.
  • Records patient data, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
  • Obtains necessary patient records and prepares exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as required.
  • Assists physicians with exams and procedures, administers injections, and maintains exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
  • Answers patient telephone calls, phones in prescriptions, and makes other patient calls as directed.
  • Performs other administrative duties, including typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, and reception, as requested.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred.
  • 0-3 years of experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
  • Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
