The Inventory Control Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and facilitating the flow of materials essential for maintenance, repairs, and operations (MRO). This position requires proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office, along with the ability to maintain accurate records of purchasing, receiving, and shipping while executing additional tasks as directed by management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Order, issue, receive, and organize inventory, ensuring accurate data entry in SAP.
2. Verify authorization, compliance, and proper documentation for all transactions.
3. Manage material returns, both internal and external, and coordinate shipping logistics.
4. Oversee engineering deliveries and receipts for various projects and services.
5. Process shipments for both internal and external clients efficiently.
6. Maintain daily performance reports and file all relevant documentation.
7. Deliver priority packages and materials to designated storeroom areas.
8. Keep storeroom spaces organized and in pristine condition.
9. Handle non-inventory indirect purchasing processes, managing a budget of $10-$11M annually.
10. Conduct inventory cycle counts to ensure precision in stock levels.
11. Assist buyers as needed, gaining experience as a buyer in training.
12. Confirm order and delivery details with vendors, tracking shipments to ensure timely arrivals and communicating any changes to management.
13. Act as a liaison among the company, customers, and suppliers.
14. Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic mathematical abilities.
- Proficient communication skills for interaction with offsite vendors and internal staff via phone and email.
- Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute, with proficiency in Word, Excel, and SAP.
- Minimum of 6 months of purchasing experience, ideally within the food manufacturing sector.
- At least 6 months of experience as an inventory or parts clerk, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
