Position Summary:

The Business Banking Associate plays a crucial role in fostering and enhancing connections with the retail branch network through effective commercial relationship management, sales initiatives, and service excellence. This position embodies the values of Pioneer Bank within the business community, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and a charismatic approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Proactively seeks and establishes new commercial client relationships within a designated area through consistent and meaningful outreach to businesses, networks, and referral sources. Provides ongoing support, needs assessment, and relationship management to existing clients.
  2. Oversees, nurtures, and expands a portfolio of credit and deposit clients.
  3. Represents Pioneer Bank enthusiastically and professionally within the business sector, acting as a brand ambassador.
  4. Engages in collaborative sales efforts with partners from Commercial Services, Retail Branches, and other departments.
  5. Serves as the primary contact for retail staff regarding loans ranging from $100,000 to $350,000, subject to approval from the VP – Business Banking Team Leader.
  6. Demonstrates effective needs assessment capabilities and possesses comprehensive knowledge of Pioneer Bank's products, services, and processes to recommend suitable solutions to clients.
  7. Identifies, manages, and processes new and ongoing credit applications.
  8. Recognizes and capitalizes on opportunities for additional deposits.
  9. Targets prospects for introducing and implementing cash management solutions to support clients' operational needs.
  10. Contributes to the bank's profitability by driving revenue through deposit growth, credit expansion, and fee income.
  11. Coordinates with branch personnel regarding documentation necessary for opening new deposit accounts, processing loan requests, and establishing cash management and ancillary banking services. Ensures documentation is accurate, complete, and delivered in a timely manner.
  12. Effectively builds strategic referral networks including CPAs, attorneys, and other professionals. Leads presentations and coordinates networking efforts with community influencers.
  13. Cross-sells business and retail financial services to business owners and executives across various sectors.
  14. Collaborates with branch managers and staff on business development initiatives.
  15. Participates in training sessions, seminars, and meetings to enhance knowledge of business banking practices.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  2. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in banking, sales support, or operations is required.
  3. Strong understanding of deposit products, credit, cash management solutions, and ancillary banking services is essential.
  4. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and numerical skills are necessary.
  5. Proficient in computer applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  6. Demonstrates strong customer service skills with a professional and courteous communication style.
  7. Must possess reliable transportation and maintain a valid driver's license.
