Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to join our New York Operations team at Convene. As a key member of our leadership team, you will oversee General Managers in assigned properties and directly report to the Regional VP, Operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of conference and workplace operations at multiple Convene locations, including guest/client services, technology, facility maintenance, sales, food and beverage, and human resources.

You will work closely with Property Leaders and managers to ensure resolution to all guest/client and employee-related challenges or concerns across department lines while adhering to property and Convene policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multi-property operations, including guest/client services, technology, facility maintenance, sales, food and beverage, and human resources.
  • Work closely with Property Leaders and managers to ensure resolution to all guest/client and employee-related challenges or concerns.
  • Manage, approve, and navigate facilities repair and maintenance, while maintaining proper licenses and permits.
  • Ensure procedures are followed for security of monies, credit, and financial transactions, and guest/client security.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the entire property to ensure the appearance of such areas reflects highly on the Convene locations, brand, and company.
  • Partner with the Commercial team to establish and reach annual goals, including driving post-contract growth and closely monitoring area inventory.
  • Build, review, and monitor all assigned annual budgets, remaining within budget and meeting company financial goals.

Requirements:

  • Experience leading a hospitality operation with a significant catering and/or conference service component in a progressive and premium environment.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations.
  • Financial acumen and the ability to manage Profit & Loss Statements.
