Location

Taconic Biosciences is on the lookout for a Senior Laboratory Specialist in Molecular Analysis to become part of our committed laboratory team.

Compensation

The starting pay ranges from $24 to $27 per hour, with variations based on factors such as experience, education, and local market conditions. A 10% shift differential applies for 2nd shift positions.

Work Schedule

1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 4:30 PM (no shift differential applicable).
2nd Shift: 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM (flexibility available). Initial training will occur during the first two days from 8 AM – 4:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting a variety of molecular assays on animal samples to generate genotype and phenotype results.
  • Independently evaluating the quality of results and addressing any anomalies with appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Maintaining and overseeing laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Managing sample receipt, logging, processing, testing, and reporting results.
  • Organizing work to ensure timely and quality results with minimal retesting.
  • Contributing to process improvements and adapting existing assays to new technologies.
  • Assisting in other laboratory functions as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent technical/managerial experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience or training.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical abilities.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands for this role include the ability to use hands for handling and communication, frequent standing, walking, sitting, and reaching. The role may require lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities necessary for this position include the ability to adjust focus.
