Position Overview:

The Senior Process Engineer will play a critical role in overseeing the technical aspects of RDP Thermoforming within the Canandaigua facility, focusing on quality maintenance and departmental profitability enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for RDP Thermoforming processes, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Develop and implement process methodologies and controls to enhance product quality.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical equipment issues, offering technical guidance and training.
  • Prepare and present various technical reports and corrective action reports to support initiatives aimed at cost reduction, reliability, and safety.
  • Manage small to medium-scale capital projects ranging from $10K to $500K.
  • Lead new equipment trials, process evaluations, and production startup activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in plastics manufacturing process engineering, particularly in sheet extrusion or thermoforming.
  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with Polystyrene Foam or Polypropylene Thermoforming is preferred.
  • Familiarity with electrical and control systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Thermoforming platforms such as Irwin, Lyle, Brown, TSL, etc. is a plus.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Experience with Computer-Based Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Proven supervisory experience with contract personnel and technical teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Recognized as a technical authority and resource within the engineering field.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and design principles for thermoforming, injection molding, and related processes.
  • Understanding of tooling and machining practices for thermoform and injection molds.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary team environments and project management.
  • Ability to comprehend broader business issues and customer-related challenges.
  • Proficiency in visualizing and communicating research findings effectively.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) techniques and relevant software.
  • Familiarity with CAD software packages such as Solidworks, Catia, and Autocad.
  • Skills in mockup and rapid prototyping.

Compensation Information:

For individuals hired to work in New York, Pactiv Evergreen is required by law to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The compensation range is specific to New York and considers various factors, including skill sets, experience, and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $92,700 - $154,500.
