Position Overview:

The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of RDP Thermoforming within the Canandaigua facility, focusing on quality maintenance and departmental profitability enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement process methodologies and controls to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues, providing technical guidance and training to resolve challenges.
  • Prepare, submit, and present various technical reports or Corrective Action Reports (CARs) aimed at cost reduction, reliability improvement, and safety initiatives.
  • Manage small to medium-scale capital projects, ranging from $10,000 to $500,000.
  • Lead and support trials for new equipment, processes, and products, as well as production start-up efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in plastics manufacturing process engineering, specifically in sheet extrusion or thermoforming.
  • Consideration will be given to candidates with equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with Polystyrene Foam or Polypropylene Thermoforming is preferred.
  • Electrical and control systems experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Thermoforming platforms such as Irwin, Lyle, Brown, TSL, etc. is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Experience with Computer-Based Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Proven supervisory experience with contract personnel and technical associates.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while establishing priorities.
  • Recognized as a technical leader and key resource within the organization.

Preferred Skills:

  • Expertise in manufacturing and design for manufacturing, particularly in thermoforming, injection molding, molded fiber, and sheet extrusion.
  • Understanding of tooling and machining practices for thermoform and injection molds.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary team collaboration and project management.
  • Ability to comprehend broader business issues and customer-related challenges.
  • Proficiency in visualizing and communicating research outcomes effectively.
  • Familiarity with FEA (finite element analysis) techniques and software.
  • Experience with CAD software packages such as Solidworks, Catia, and Autocad.
  • Skills in mockup and rapid prototyping.

Compensation Information:

For individuals hired to work in New York, Pactiv Evergreen is required by law to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The compensation range is specific to New York and considers various factors including skill sets, experience, training, and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $92,700 - $154,500.
