Key Responsibilities:

The Lead Patient Registration Specialist is accountable for overseeing and coordinating clerical tasks that contribute to the smooth and service-oriented functioning of a medical practice. This role demands professionalism and courtesy, aligning with the mission and core values of Trinity Health.

Key duties include ensuring the achievement of established revenue cycle metrics while adhering to excellence standards and practice workflows:
  • Appointment scheduling and patient registration
  • Patient check-in and check-out processes
  • Charge entry and claims management
  • End-of-day reconciliation tasks
  • General administrative duties, including but not limited to:
    • Document management
    • Scanning documents
    • Monitoring communication inboxes
Essential Duties:
  • Distribute tasks among team members to meet daily operational goals
  • Exhibit leadership qualities
  • Coordinate daily staffing requirements with management
  • Act as a mentor and role model for colleagues
  • Schedule patient appointments to enhance access to care.
  • Manage incoming calls and direct them appropriately.
  • Register patients, ensuring collection of necessary consent forms and demographic information.
  • Collect co-payments at check-in or check-out as applicable, documenting transactions accurately.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and clinical staff, monitoring wait times and keeping patients informed.
  • Coordinate follow-up appointments at check-out, including necessary tests.
  • Obtain pre-authorizations for diagnostic testing as required.
  • Secure referrals for specialist visits.
  • Accurately process charges in accordance with office policies.
  • Information Management: Execute daily parsing processes to file information electronically into the Electronic Medical Record, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Communicate respectfully and effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Provide coverage in other areas as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Strong leadership abilities required
  • Associate's degree preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
  • Experience in delivering exceptional customer service
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skill in handling challenging customer interactions with professionalism
  • Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Compensation: $23.90 per hour
