Job Overview

Position Summary:

As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will act as a pivotal quality analyst, both internally and externally, tackling and resolving quality challenges to guarantee that our products and installations consistently adhere to elevated standards. This position necessitates close collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, R&D, and Marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead ongoing process enhancement initiatives utilizing statistical methods and lean principles.
  • Oversee the First Article approval process in conjunction with suppliers and internal departments.
  • Examine supplier rejection data and recommend suppliers for the ship-to-stock initiative.
  • Assist manufacturing teams with issues related to defective materials, documentation deficiencies, or process complications.
  • Collect, validate, and archive Material Test Reports and First Article submissions.
  • Support receiving inspection with questionable items and liaise with Engineering as necessary.
  • Generate NCR reports and disseminate monthly, quarterly, and annual summaries.
  • Coordinate both in-house and external calibration activities.
  • Review and manage NCRs from suppliers, creating and resolving NCRs.
  • Develop 8D corrective action reports and address customer inquiries.
  • Engage with suppliers regarding rejected and non-conforming products.
  • Monitor and track action plans for corrective measures.
  • Conduct internal audits and facilitate action plans for non-conformities.
  • Serve as the primary contact for onsite third-party audits (ISO-9001, CSA, UL).
  • Organize and conduct employee training on ISO-9001, statistical methods, problem-solving, and quality awareness.
  • Concentrate on supplier continuous improvement initiatives, including conducting supplier audits.
  • Communicate quality concerns across all departments of the organization.
  • Lead or facilitate the creation of Control Plans, PFMEAs, and Work Instructions.
  • Independently manage assigned projects and achieve key milestones punctually.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with contemporary measurement techniques.
Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%, both domestically and internationally.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Quality Engineer, ideally within the Electro-Mechanical sector.
  • Experience with assembly, testing, and/or failure analysis.
  • Skilled in using measurement tools such as CMM, micrometers, calipers, and thread gauges.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong grasp of statistical concepts.
  • Ability to interpret and apply GD&T tolerancing.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated teamwork and leadership capabilities.
  • Lead Auditor experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Automotive PPAP is preferred.
  • Foreign language proficiency is a plus.
Language and Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical literature, financial documents, and legal papers.
  • Capability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory bodies, or business community members.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical issues both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in applying mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, test reliability, variance analysis, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Employ logical and scientific reasoning to a variety of intellectual and practical challenges.
  • Handle nonverbal symbols (formulas, scientific equations, graphs) in complex forms.
  • Manage a range of abstract and concrete variables.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must have sufficient mobility to travel to various sites and facilities.
Working Conditions:
  • Regular work in product assembly areas, warehouse shipping, and office settings.
