At Sharon Hospital, we are seeking an experienced Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our growing per diem team. As a Medical Sonographer, you will provide high-quality patient care and perform diagnostic ultrasonic procedures in various areas, including OB/GYN, abdomen, pediatric extremities, and vascular procedures.

Job Summary:

Performs diagnostic ultrasonic procedures for the diagnosis of disease, in accordance with established protocols.

Duties:

  • Explains the test to the patient and instructs them in assuming the physical position for the examination.
  • Assesses patient pain interfering with imaging procedure and makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Selects a transducer and adjusts the equipment controls according to the organ to be examined, the depth of field, and other specifications of the test.
  • Obtains permanent records of internal examinations by adhering to PACS/Archive protocol.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree preferred, but not required.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required before orientation.
  • At least 1 year of prior experience as a Medical Sonographer.
  • Registered with either the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Position Overview:

Location: Sharon Hospital

Work Type: Per-Diem

Standard Hours: Day shifts, 8 hours per week

Salary Range: $50/hour for PRN

Department: Ultrasound
