Accounting Manager Job Description

Randstad is currently assisting a company in the Mesa, AZ area with an Accounting Manager search. Qualified candidates must have 3+ years of supervisory experience and a Bachelor's degree, with a passion for working in a start-up environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily accounting department functions, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Review and reconcile bank accounts, managing cash flow effectively.
  • Prepare and deliver financial statements and management reports, providing actionable insights.
  • Lead internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to financial policies and procedures.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor accounting staff, providing leadership and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Manage bi-weekly payroll process, ensuring compliance with all payroll regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and GAAP standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, financial analysis, and forecasting initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
  • 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Proven experience in managing, mentoring, and developing accounting teams.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing and reviewing financial reports and statements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with various levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory compliance and experience managing audits and internal controls.
