Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator - Richmond

Department: Grading

Reports to: Project Superintendent / Project Foreman

Major Role and Purpose:

  • Operate heavy industrial equipment such as dozers, excavators, backhoes, or other grading or excavating equipment to move and level materials, such as dirt and gravel.

Description of Duties:

  • Monitor the activity within the site.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.
  • The job duties described herein are not exhaustive and may be supplemented.
  • Knowledge of how to operate heavy industrial equipment.
  • Spread dirt in fill area.
  • Clear and grub area being worked.
  • Run a fill area.
  • Read slope stakes.
  • Cut slope to the job's specifications (type of slope, ditch cut depths, and fill section heights).
  • Direct trucks where to dump load.
  • Dress and clean up job at the completion.
  • Water, oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
  • Ability to operate equipment in a safe and consistent manner.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends.
  • Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.

Education:

  • High School Diploma Preferred

Preferred Experience:

  • 3-5 Years Operating Various Heavy Equipment.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Understand GPS grade control.
  • Knowledge of grades.
