We are seeking a skilled and motivated Underground Distribution Groundperson to join our team at Utility Lines Construction Services, LLC. As an entry-level position, this role offers a career path towards maintaining and repairing underground distribution and transmission systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform new construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized underground line work following company-established safety and health standards from the ground level.
- Ability to problem-solve with unidentified circumstances on any job.
- Ensure daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment.
- Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Excavate to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.
- Communicate with public and private property owners to professionally discuss work to be performed.
- Participate in company training of all regional safety guidelines and perform all work by regional safety policies.
- Operate various tools for the work, including manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-alongs, jack hammer, and hand-line.
- Perform all other duties as required or requested by supervisors.
- Report all potential equipment and crew safety hazards to the foreperson.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to follow directions, work safely and productively.
- Problem-solving skills with unidentified circumstances on any job.
- Ability to identify, operate, and service all required tools and equipment.
- RARE (less than 10%): Sitting, crawling, and climbing poles.
- OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): Stooping, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, sense of touch, range of motion, pushing, climbing ladders, climbing stairs, balancing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- FREQUENT (up to 66%): Walking, manual dexterity, seeing distant, climbing on/off truck, gripping, lifting over 10 lbs. up to 50 lbs., reaching, depth perception, lifting, carrying, and pulling.
- CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): Standing, speaking clearly, seeing, hearing-speech range, color vision, lifting up to 10 lbs.
