Job Description Summary

BD is a leading global medical technology company that is advancing the world of health. We are seeking a Senior Staff Systems Engineer to join our team and lead the development of robust systems engineering processes for our rapidly expanding portfolio of robotic and enterprise software solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of technical project work across a portfolio of new product development and sustaining products, including system/product-level feasibility, requirement derivation, system integration & test, and risk management.
  • Contribute to the transition from R&D to manufacturing/service and support system troubleshooting activities for products in the field.
  • Drive robust systems engineering practices into projects in collaboration with hardware, software, quality, and test engineers.
  • Model and coach best practices in technical documentation across a multidisciplinary team and educate others in implementation of DFSS best practices to project work.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and manage effective escalation of critical issues when needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in science or engineering, with a postgraduate degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in technical area, with experience in systems engineering and requirements management, including requirement/specification management, systems integration and testing, system architectural planning and design, Reliability Engineering, and Failure Modes Effects Analysis, verification and validation.
  • Strong experimental design, data acquisition, graphical analysis, and use of statistical methods for large complex data sets.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member or leader of a multi-disciplinary team, with experience in directing associates and leading cross-functional groups.
  • Ability to communicate technical and program progress/metrics effectively and clearly at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in product development lifecycle (both waterfall & agile product development processes) and design control.
