- Appointment Coordination: Manage patient appointments, surgical schedules, and follow-up visits to optimize clinic efficiency.
- Patient Onboarding: Welcome patients, gather demographic and insurance details, and ensure accurate updates to electronic medical records (EMRs).
- Insurance Processing: Confirm patient insurance eligibility, secure authorizations for medical procedures, and assist with inquiries related to insurance matters.
- Record Maintenance: Keep medical records organized and current, including filing, scanning, and retrieving necessary documents.
- Billing Support: Aid in billing operations, ensuring accurate coding of procedures and services for proper reimbursement.
- Inventory Oversight: Track inventory levels of medical and office supplies, restocking as necessary and coordinating orders with the administrative team.
- Communication Facilitation: Enhance communication between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff, both in person and via phone.
Clinical Functions:
- Patient Preparation: Guide patients to examination areas, record vital signs, and prepare them for medical evaluations or procedures.
- Allergy Assessment: Conduct allergy skin tests, including prick and intradermal tests, interpreting results under physician supervision.
- Immunotherapy Delivery: Administer allergy immunotherapy injections as per physician directives, adhering to established safety protocols.
- Patient Instruction: Provide education to patients regarding allergy triggers, avoidance techniques, medication usage, and the rationale behind allergy testing and immunotherapy.
- Assistance in Procedures: Support physicians during ENT procedures by maintaining a sterile environment and providing necessary assistance.
- Documentation: Accurately record patient evaluations, procedures performed, and treatment plans in EMRs, ensuring compliance with clinic standards.
- Infection Control: Follow infection control protocols, ensuring cleanliness and sterilization of equipment to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a medical assistant program or certification as an allergy technician is preferred.
- Certification: Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) may be required. Additional certification as an Allergy Technician (CMAA) or Certified Clinical Allergy Specialist (CCAS) is advantageous.
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical office, particularly in ENT or allergy settings, is beneficial.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, attention to detail, multitasking capability, proficiency in EMR systems, and familiarity with medical terminology and allergy testing methods.
- Licensure: MA License Preferred
