Building Controls Technician

Essential Qualifications:

  • Preferred: 5 Years of Experience in Construction or Building Control Systems
  • Experience with TRIDIUM and/or DISTECH is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage controls databases, graphical interfaces, and programming based on specifications from the Design Specialist and project requirements.
  • Conduct thorough controls start-up and commissioning, ensuring accurate point-to-point verification on assigned projects. Confirm the proper functioning of alarms, notifications, and actions of equipment and control systems.
  • Offer technical support and information to other contractors present at the project site.
  • Troubleshoot installation challenges during both static and dynamic phases of building control systems start-up and commissioning.
  • Assist in resolving operational issues that extend beyond the control systems or specialized equipment.
  • Contribute insights as needed to aid in precise estimation, design, installation, start-up, commissioning, and training for building systems.
  • Prepare start-up documentation, including daily logs, check-out records, and commissioning reports as required for assigned projects.
  • Ensure timely creation of software backups for projects and ongoing software development.
  • Provide maintenance support for existing installations, ensuring compliance with building occupancy regulations.
  • Support the effective operation of existing systems while offering continuous assistance to building engineers.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, including time sheets and service work orders, accurately and punctually.
  • Assist in the preparation of submittal documents, as-built drawings, and Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
