We're a 35-year-old design practice that has worked hard to create projects that inspire change and leave a positive impact. Our diverse architecture, interior design, and creative branding practice has resulted in 300+ awards, record-breaking real estate transactions, and the first mass timber and net-zero renovations in Washington, DC. Our Mission

We're dedicated to elevating Black design voices by empowering emerging professionals and providing financial assistance to reduce barriers for entry into architecture and interior design careers. Our Rise Internship + Stipend is a paid opportunity for one applicant annually to join our team for an eight-to-ten-week internship program.

Program Details
  • The selected recipient will gain valuable work experience and be exposed to a broader network of industry mentors, peers, and organizations.
  • Upon completion, they will be awarded a $5,000 stipend to allocate towards university-related expenses.
  • The internship will take place during the summer of 2025, and the stipend will be delivered upon completion of the internship.
Eligibility

The Hickok Cole Rise Internship + Stipend is open to Black, African American, or African Diaspora students currently enrolled in an architecture or interior design program at an accredited university. Applicants must be legally able to work in the United States and be returning to school in the Fall of 2025.
