Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled counselor with expertise in substance abuse treatment. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in various therapeutic methods to address mental health challenges such as addiction, depression, stress, and grief. This role involves working closely with individuals, families, and groups to facilitate recovery and promote wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of client needs and formulate tailored treatment plans.
  • Deliver individual and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices under the guidance of a licensed supervisor.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for clients.
  • Develop and implement aftercare strategies for all assigned clients.
  • Provide mentorship and training to new clinicians and interns.
  • Effectively handle crisis situations within the treatment environment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Adhere to the utilization review protocols.
  • May involve transporting clients using agency or personal vehicles.

Qualifications:

Master's Degree in a relevant Human Services field such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling. A minimum of one year of post-graduate experience in counseling individuals with substance use disorders or mental health issues is required. Familiarity with community resources for substance abuse treatment is essential. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting and possess experience in individual, group, and family therapy. Knowledge of the 12-Step Program is preferred. Current licensure as LCSW, LADC, or LPC in Connecticut is mandatory.
