Overview:
We are seeking a skilled counselor with a solid understanding of substance abuse treatment methodologies.

Possessing expertise in various therapeutic approaches, the counselor will address a range of issues such as addiction, depression, suicidal tendencies, stress management, self-esteem challenges, and grief counseling.

The clinician will work collaboratively with individuals, families, and groups to facilitate effective treatment.

Working autonomously with regular supervision, the counselor will guide and motivate clients towards achieving sobriety through tailored treatment strategies.


Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of client treatment requirements and provide tailored recommendations.
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices under the guidance of a licensed therapist.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive client care.
- Develop and implement appropriate aftercare plans for all assigned clients.
- Provide training and orientation for new clinicians and interns.
- Manage crisis situations effectively within the unit.
- Maintain accurate documentation in clinical records as per regulatory standards.
- Adhere to the utilization review process.

Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in a Human Services discipline, such as Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- Minimum of one year of post-graduate experience in counseling individuals with substance abuse or mental health issues.
- Familiarity with community resources available for substance abusers.
- Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience in individual, group, and family therapy.
- Knowledge of the 12-Step Program.
- Current licensure as LCSW, LADC, or LPC in Connecticut is mandatory.
