Job Title: Compensation Manager

At RWJBarnabas Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Compensation Manager to lead our compensation initiatives, practices, and programs. As a key member of our Human Resources team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, compliance, competitiveness, and cost-effectiveness of our compensation programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic compensation initiatives to attract, develop, and retain top talent
  • Manage compensation specialists and other ancillary professionals to ensure effective program implementation
  • Design, implement, and administer innovative and competitive compensation programs
  • Analyze and develop company compensation in relation to government wage and hour regulations
  • Provide analysis and guidance for market/merit adjustments and options, manage job analysis and pricing, and handle all special compensation issues
  • Develop recommendations for bonus, incentive, and other alternative pay practices
  • Work with Human Resources, Payroll, and Corporate HCM staff to effect changes as necessary
  • Act as an internal consultant on compensation plans and issues
  • Facilitate program design between line management and senior leadership to ensure programs are business-objective based
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or a relevant discipline required
  • Solid, proven experience in a variety of compensation and consulting plans/programs
  • Experience in designing and administering pay plans, market pricing and analysis, salary budget development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of human resources laws, regulations, and compensation best practices
  • Strong process improvement and financial management expertise
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of management and staff
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Visio, Microsoft Project
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in human resources, business, behavioral sciences or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in leading a compensation function preferred
  • Certified Compensation Professional CCP preferred
  • Experience with HR/payroll system PeopleSoft preferred
