Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to school food authorities in New Mexico, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and promoting healthy meal options for students. The ideal candidate will have experience in nutrition education, familiarity with USDA regulations, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance to school food authorities on meal pattern requirements and nutrition standards.
  • Work closely with school districts, non-profits, and state agencies to develop and implement healthy meal programs.
  • Assist in creating recipes, menus, and meal plans that incorporate local produce and meet nutritional standards.
  • Communicate with food service directors and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of nutrition programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in any field.
  • Three years of experience in program administration or project management, preferably in areas related to nutrition and education.
  • Experience with oversight of grant programs and technical assistance a plus.
Working Conditions

This position will work in an office setting with occasional travel to school districts and other locations. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
