Self-Help for the Elderly seeks a skilled Center Coordinator to manage the daily operations of activities and services at a senior center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in community services, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work with diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage center program operations, including coordinating activities, classes, and special events, and ensuring rooms are set up and cleaned daily.
- Monitor program quality and quantity, ensuring compliance with governmental and agency regulations and policies.
- Recruit, train, and supervise center staff and volunteers to ensure efficient operation of the center.
- Maintain a clean, attractive, and safe environment for participants, and ensure furniture and equipment are in good working condition.
- Manage food, supplies, and equipment inventory, and prepare monthly inventory reports.
- Provide translation, information, and referrals for program participants and the public.
- Register participants, compile monthly reports, and conduct service surveys as needed.
- Collect and deposit participant donations, and maintain daily financial reports.
- Conduct community outreach to target populations and ensure access to the center.
- Attend staff meetings and other community meetings as assigned.
- College degree preferred or high school graduate with at least three years of work experience in community services.
- Self-motivated and possess leadership skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work with older adults and diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Bilingual in English and Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the internet.
- Must pass health screening for TB clearance, strength test for physical fitness, and acquire CPR and First Aid certificates within 3 months of employment.
- Ability to travel via public transportation or personal vehicle for performance of job duties.
