We are in search of a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to become a vital member of our Engineering team. In this essential position, you will work collaboratively on the initiation of new projects and the enhancement of processes at our manufacturing facility. Your role will involve driving efficiency improvements, optimizing workflows, and implementing system enhancements to meet operational objectives, in partnership with various support teams.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Innovative Engineering Solutions: Develop creative solutions to engineering challenges related to production, quality assurance, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Design and Modification of Equipment: Create new machinery designs and modify existing equipment to boost production capabilities and efficiency.
  • Supplier Engagement and Technology Implementation: Identify and collaborate with contractors and suppliers to adopt new technologies and cost-effective solutions. Manage supplier relations and integrate product data into Timken systems.
  • Project Leadership: Oversee and coordinate large-scale projects, assigning tasks to engineers, analysts, and contractors. Manage project budgets and expenditures while implementing innovative technologies at the facility.
  • Championing Continuous Improvement: Define and advocate for continuous improvement initiatives across all production sectors. Work alongside production staff to implement process enhancements and efficiency improvements.
  • Cost Efficiency Projects: Generate cost-saving strategies and lead initiatives aimed at minimizing operational costs at the facility.
  • Process Engineering and Optimization: Assess and refine manufacturing processes for both new and existing products to meet optimal cost and quality benchmarks. Responsible for process engineering, industrial engineering, tooling/equipment procurement, waste reduction, and troubleshooting.
  • Lean Manufacturing Initiatives: Spearhead the launch and ongoing improvement activities, applying lean manufacturing principles to systematically identify and eliminate waste.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, or a related discipline).
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in a manufacturing engineering capacity, ideally within a precision manufacturing context.
  • Strong project management capabilities with a proven history of overseeing large-scale projects from conception through execution.
  • Expertise in process engineering, equipment design, and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma).
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across various organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in managing project budgets and supplier/vendor relationships.
