We are currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to become an integral part of our Engineering team. In this crucial position, you will work collaboratively on the launch of new projects and the enhancement of processes at our Timken Aurora Bearing facility. Your role will involve driving improvements in efficiency, optimizing workflows, and implementing system enhancements to meet our objectives, in partnership with various operational support teams.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Innovative Engineering Solutions: Develop creative solutions to engineering challenges related to production, quality assurance, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Design and Upgrade Equipment: Create new machinery designs and enhance existing equipment to boost production efficiency and capabilities.
  • Supplier Collaboration and Technology Implementation: Engage with contractors and suppliers to adopt new technologies and cost-effective solutions. Oversee supplier relationships and integrate product data into Timken’s systems.
  • Project Leadership: Direct and manage large-scale projects, assigning tasks to engineers, analysts, and contractors. Oversee project budgets and expenses while introducing new technologies at the Aurora Bearing Plant.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement: Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives across all production sectors. Work alongside production teams to implement process enhancements and achieve efficiency gains.
  • Cost Efficiency Projects: Generate cost-saving strategies and spearhead initiatives aimed at reducing operational costs at the Aurora facility.
  • Process Engineering and Enhancement: Assess and refine manufacturing processes for both new and existing products to meet optimal cost and quality benchmarks. Responsible for process engineering, industrial engineering, tooling and equipment procurement, waste reduction, and troubleshooting.
  • Lean Manufacturing Practices: Initiate and sustain improvement activities, applying lean manufacturing principles to systematically identify and eliminate waste.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, or a related discipline).
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing engineering capacity, ideally within a precision manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities with a history of overseeing large-scale projects from inception to completion.
  • Proficient in process engineering, equipment design, and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma).
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across various organizational levels.
  • Skilled in managing project budgets and supplier/vendor relationships.
