We are in search of a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to become part of our Engineering team.

In this crucial position, you will work closely on the initiation of new projects and the enhancement of processes at our Timken Aurora Bearing facility.

Your role will involve driving efficiency improvements, optimizing workflows, and implementing system enhancements to meet objectives, collaborating with multiple operational support teams.


Key Responsibilities of the Lead Manufacturing Engineer:

Innovative Engineering Solutions:
Deliver creative solutions to engineering challenges related to production, quality assurance, and ongoing improvement initiatives.

Design and Modification of Equipment:
Create new machinery and adjust existing equipment to boost production capabilities and efficiency.

Supplier Engagement and Technology Implementation:
Identify and collaborate with contractors and suppliers to introduce new technologies and cost-effective solutions. Manage supplier relationships and integrate product data into Timken systems.

Project Leadership:
Oversee and coordinate large-scale projects, assigning tasks to engineers, analysts, and contractors. Manage project budgets and expenditures while implementing new technologies at the Aurora Bearing Plant.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
Define and advocate for continuous improvement projects across all production areas. Work with production teams to execute process enhancements and efficiency improvements.

Cost Efficiency Projects:
Generate cost-saving ideas and lead initiatives aimed at minimizing operational expenses at the Aurora facility.

Process Engineering and Enhancement:
Assess and refine manufacturing processes for both new and existing products to meet optimal cost and quality standards. Responsible for process engineering, industrial engineering, tooling/equipment procurement, waste reduction, and troubleshooting.

Lean Manufacturing Practices:
Spearhead the launch and ongoing improvement activities, applying lean manufacturing principles to systematically identify and eliminate waste.

Qualifications and Experience Required:


Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, or a related discipline). A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in a manufacturing engineering role, ideally within a precision manufacturing setting.

Strong project management capabilities with a proven track record of overseeing large-scale projects from inception to execution.

Expertise in process engineering, equipment design, and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma). Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across various levels of the organization.

Proficiency in managing project budgets and supplier/vendor relationships.
