Position Summary & Key Responsibilities:

We are currently in search of a Central Processing Technician for our Treasure Valley Labs in Boise, Idaho. This position is a full-time evening role, consisting of 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday. In this capacity, you will leverage your existing phlebotomy and laboratory technician expertise to make a significant impact.

Key Duties Include:

The ideal candidate will manage and coordinate the functions of the central processing section within the clinical laboratory. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and quantity of all clinical laboratory specimens from both inpatient and outpatient sources sent for in-house testing and to external laboratories. Additionally, you will oversee billing processes for reference laboratories and register patient specimens received from external sources. Collaboration with TVL laboratories regarding all specimens submitted for testing is essential. You will also serve as a resource for clinical staff regarding laboratory test inquiries and assist with the ordering of laboratory tests in the electronic medical record (EMR). This role reports directly to the POCT Laboratory Coordinator.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Some college education or an associate degree is preferred.
  • Coursework involving laboratory work is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a hospital environment or reference laboratory is preferred.
