Position Summary:

We are currently looking for a Central Processing Technician for our Treasure Valley Labs in Boise, Idaho. This is a full-time position with evening shifts, working 8 hours from Monday to Friday. In this capacity, you will utilize your phlebotomy and laboratory technician expertise to make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the operations of the central processing section within the clinical laboratory.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of all clinical laboratory specimens from both inpatient and outpatient sources sent for testing.
  • Handle billing processes for reference laboratories and register patient specimens received from external locations.
  • Collaborate effectively with TVL laboratories regarding all specimens submitted for analysis.
  • Act as a resource for clinical staff regarding laboratory test inquiries and assist with ordering laboratory tests in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Report directly to the POCT Laboratory Coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Some college education or an associate degree is preferred.
  • Courses involving laboratory work are advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a hospital environment or reference laboratory is preferred.
