SPECS-TII Inc. serves as the USA subsidiary of SPECS Surface Nano Analysis GmbH, a premier provider of ultra-high vacuum (UHV) surface analysis instruments. We are the exclusive distributor of all SPECSGROUP products and UNISOKU (Tokyo Instruments Inc.) scanning probe microscopy products in North America, delivering advanced technology in low-temperature UHV scanning probe microscopes, photoelectron spectroscopy systems, and other innovative surface analysis solutions. Our dedicated personnel ensure local sales and service for North American inquiries, installations, and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist customers in the USA and Canada with technical inquiries and troubleshooting.

· Conduct on-site service, maintenance, and repairs of complex analytical equipment.

· Execute installations of sophisticated surface analysis instruments and provide training to customers on their operation.

· Capable of lifting and moving scientific equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and frequently positioning oneself to connect or modify equipment during service visits.

· Regular travel is necessary, primarily within the USA, Canada, Germany, and Japan, with occasional travel to other regions and attendance at trade shows.

Qualifications:

· A degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline (e.g., physics, engineering, materials science, chemistry).

· Proven problem-solving skills and experience troubleshooting advanced surface analysis equipment.

· Hands-on familiarity with ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems.

· Background in ARPES, XPS, and/or LT-SPM is preferred.

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.

· Proficient in understanding schematics and utilizing MS Windows and Office applications.

· Ability to manage time, projects, and communications efficiently in a dynamic small company environment.

· Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.

· USA citizenship is required, along with the ability to pass a background check for access to restricted facilities. A valid driver's license and passport are also necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Ph.D. in a relevant science or engineering field (e.g., physics, engineering, materials science, chemistry).

· Direct experience with SPECS and/or UNISOKU equipment is advantageous.
