Job Overview

As a Technical Director at Jaffer Business Systems, you will lead the Thermoforming technical teams, providing strategic direction and oversight to ensure the highest level of performance and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Direction: Provide vision and guidance to the technical teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Maintenance Systems: Oversee the maintenance of all Thermoforming equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Technical Activities: Direct and manage all Thermoforming technical activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement robust preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment failures and optimize production.
  • Productivity Improvement: Analyze and optimize processes to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ownership of Equipment: Take ownership of all Thermoformers and direct thermoforming support equipment, ensuring their optimal performance and maintenance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the Lacerta Production System (LPS) team to establish and drive a culture of continuous improvement, sharing best practices and driving cost reduction strategies.
  • Project Management: Provide project management and team accountability for improvement projects, ensuring timely completion and effective implementation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and SQF regulations, maintaining accurate records and reporting.
  • Support Departments: Provide support to Production, EHS, Quality, Scheduling/Planning, Continuous Improvement, and NPD departments, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot processes and equipment, performing root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues.
  • New Equipment and Systems: Assist in specifying and identifying new equipment and systems, ensuring they meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • SQF/ISO Compliance: Ensure compliance with SQF/ISO requirements, maintaining accurate records and reporting.
  • Performance Goals: Achieve performance goals, including 85% TF OEE, maintenance and process downtime reduction, and 5M pieces/day production.
