Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Write and edit CNC programs to machine parts with precision and accuracy.
  • Tool Selection: Choose cutting tools that meet the process requirements, including material selection, tolerance control, and cycle time optimization.
  • Simulation and Testing: Perform CNC program simulations to ensure safe and efficient cutting paths before running on equipment.
  • Documentation and Support: Create and maintain supporting documentation, including machine setup sheets, tool set sheets, and in-process inspection drawings and instructions.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve program issues on the production floor.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the team to implement process improvements, reduce defect rates, increase first-pass yield, and enhance process safety and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Experience: 10 years of experience in machining, including setup and operation of CNCs and bridgeports.
  • Programming Skills: 6 years of experience programming G-code in software such as Siemens NX, Mastercam, GibbsCam, and Esprit.
  • CAD and Simulation Experience: Background in geometric dimension and tolerancing, and experience with CAD software such as Solidworks, Siemens NX, and Creo.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Training and Certifications: Training certificate in Siemens NX and/or Machinist/Tool Maker certificate.
  • Advanced Skills: Experience with advanced G-code simulation setup and troubleshooting, and machining of composites, wood, or polymers.
  • Equipment Familiarity: Familiarity with CMS Poseidon equipment and industrial 5-axis routers.
  • Process Document Writing: Experience with process document writing and machining fixture design.
