ROLE OVERVIEW

The Wine Sales Operations Associate will collaborate closely with the Head of Retail and Sales Associates to support and drive the growth strategy, particularly for the direct sales segment of Sotheby's Wine retail operations. This individual will possess a strong background in data analysis, demonstrating the capability to compile and interpret data consistently to uncover opportunities and effectively relay actionable insights that inform and propel strategies for multi-channel client engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver timely data insights to Sotheby's Wine senior management and sales teams for planning, reporting, outreach, and client development.
  • Assist the sales team in onboarding new clients, including capturing wine-related preferences.
  • Conduct regular analysis of buyer behavior in both auction and retail settings to discern purchasing habits, preferences, and spending limits.
  • Maintain accurate client information in CRM systems promptly.
  • Ensure effective client management and rewards through CRM tools.
  • Collaborate with the buying team to identify opportunities based on depletion trends and client interests.
  • Support the development of sales campaigns in conjunction with the sales and buying teams.
  • Work alongside the auction team to create crossover opportunities between auction and retail clients.
  • Facilitate the order flow to empower the direct sales team in achieving and surpassing sales targets.
  • Ensure that sales orders are processed, shipped, and finalized efficiently.
  • Manage post-sale activities, including client confirmations and follow-up regarding shipping or storage.
  • Engage with technology teams to provide feedback and insights for enhancements to our CRM capabilities.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Interest in and knowledge of wine is preferred.
  • Proven experience in leveraging data to drive business and sales growth.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously based on deadlines.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for events during evenings and weekends.
  • High degree of business acumen and the ability to establish rapport with diverse personalities.
