Job Title: Wine Sales Director

Join the Holland America Group as a Wine Sales Director and take on the exciting challenge of leading our wine sales operations. As a key member of our beverage team, you will be responsible for directing the daily operation of our wine sales operation, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and that our wine sales goals are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the daily operation of the wine sales operation, including the administration, supervision, and execution of programs consistent with company standards and goals.
  • Responsible for educating our team members and guests about our premium beverages and other retail products.
  • Develop and implement training programs for the wine attendants, dining room stewards, and bar staff.
  • Oversee the wine stocks, ordering, storing, and loading, as well as the mini bar supply, lido beverage service, dining room and alternate dining wine service, gift orders, and special functions.
  • Investigate and solve guest complaints, follow up, and meet/exceed guest expectations.
  • Develop and recommend merchandising and promotional programs to maximize wine sales and service objectives.
  • Work closely with the Controller and Provision Master in regards to inventory taking, cost control, loading, ordering, and storing of wines.
  • Responsible for achieving and exceeding guest satisfaction standards and rating for wine services consistent with company goals.
Requirements:
  • Experience in managing a multi-national wine team.
  • Extensive knowledge of varying brands and quality of liquors.
  • Extensive knowledge of new and old world wines, including food and wine pairing.
  • Ability to train multi-national wine team in all areas of wine and beverage service.
  • Ability to investigate and solve guest complaints, follow up, and meet/exceed guest expectations.
  • Knowledge of beverage handling procedures in regards to public health standards.
  • Attendance of a certified USPH or HACCP course is preferred.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for the financial aspects of a bar/wine operation.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Excellent appearance, outgoing, social, self-starter.
  • Revenue and guest satisfaction focused.
